Terms of Service

Effective: 2026-04-29 · Document version v7.0-2026-04 · Change history

Pre-launch notice. CureQuest is operated by an independent developer prior to public launch. These Terms govern your use of the Service in its current form. Any changes are announced 14 days in advance per §11.

1. Who we are and what CureQuest is

CureQuest is operated by the individual developer behind github.com/KoreanSage (the “Operator”, “we”, “us”), reachable at hello@curequest.io.

CureQuest is a thought-experiment platform for educational and entertainment purposes. You ask biomedical “what if” questions; an AI analyzes the mechanism, matches your idea against PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov, and a community can discuss it. Lab Mode adds a structured session format with citation enforcement and a notebook export.

CureQuest is not:

  • A medical service or clinical decision-support tool.
  • A substitute for a qualified healthcare professional.
  • A diagnostic, screening, or treatment platform.
  • A place for personal medical questions (the input guard will refuse them).
  • A research IRB / ethics review or a substitute for one.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. We chose 14 because it sits above COPPA's 13-year US floor, so we don't need a parental-consent flow, while still being permissive enough for the student demographic the product is written for. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 14 we will delete it.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (a lab, school, university, or company) you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at security@curequest.io of any suspected compromise.

One natural person, one account. Sharing accounts is grounds for suspension.

4. Acceptable use

By using CureQuest, you agree not to:

  • Submit personal medical questions, request diagnoses, or ask for treatment recommendations.
  • Post content that identifies another person's health information without their explicit consent.
  • Submit content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, dangerous substance use (e.g. ingesting bleach, MMS), instructions for weapons (chemical / biological / cyber), or any illegal activity. Our input guard blocks the most egregious cases automatically; bypass attempts will result in termination.
  • Harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate other users.
  • Post content that infringes third-party copyright, trademark, patent, trade-secret, or other intellectual-property rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape large portions of the site, abuse the AI cost budget, or probe for security vulnerabilities outside of a coordinated disclosure (see security.txt).
  • Use CureQuest output as medical, psychological, or legal advice under any circumstances.
  • Reverse-engineer, automate, or extract the AI model behavior for resale or competitive use.

5. AI-generated content

Thought experiments generated by CureQuest use large language models (currently Google Gemini 2.5 Flash). These models can produce plausible-sounding text that is incomplete, out-of-date, or incorrect. We apply multiple safety layers (input guard, AI prompt hardening, claim verification against PubMed / ClinicalTrials.gov, output guard, citation enforcement) but they are not a guarantee of accuracy.

Always verify important claims against primary sources and qualified professionals before relying on any statement you read here. Each result page carries an “AI-generated, verify before acting” disclaimer; that disclaimer is non-removable and you may not republish CureQuest output with it stripped.

6. Your content and license

When you post an experiment, forum thread, answer, comment, or Lab template, you grant CureQuest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, modify (for technical purposes only — e.g. resizing images, format conversion for export), and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

You retain ownership of what you write. The license terminates 30 days after you delete the content, except where: (a) others have already forked or quoted it (their copies remain), (b) we're legally required to retain it (audit obligation), or (c) it is part of a search-engine cache outside our control.

AI-generated derivatives of your prompts are licensed back to you for any use, with no attribution requirement. We reserve no proprietary right in the AI output itself.

7. User-generated content moderation

We may remove content that violates §4 or harms other users. Lab Mode marketplace templates have an in-product Report button. For other content (forum posts, comments, public experiments), email hello@curequest.io with a link and a one-line reason. Our service-level commitment:

  • Acknowledgment within 48 hours of submission.
  • Substantive response within 7 calendar days (action taken, request for more info, or rejection with reason).
  • Imminent-harm reports (self-harm encouragement, doxxing, illegal content) handled on a best-effort same-day basis.

If your content is removed and you believe it was in error, you can appeal once by emailing hello@curequest.io within 30 days.

8. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Short version: account details + your prompts + AI outputs + audit logs of safety checks. No third-party tracking. Sub-processors disclosed in Privacy §5.

9. Termination

You can delete your account and all your experiments at any time from Profile → Settings. Soft-deleted experiments are permanently removed after 30 days. Audit logs follow the retention policy in Privacy §2 (default 2 years; earlier purge available on request unless an open dispute applies).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Material terminations are notified by email when feasible.

10. DMCA / copyright takedown

If you believe content on CureQuest infringes your copyright, send a notice to dmca@curequest.io with all of the following (US-style DMCA §512(c)(3)):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typed name is sufficient).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed infringed.
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material with enough detail (URL ideally) for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

We respond within 7 days. If we remove material in response to a notice, the user who posted it may submit a counter-notice with the same details plus consent to jurisdiction.

Repeat infringers will be terminated.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. The version string (v7.0-2026-04 today) is bumped on every change and the diff is published at /legal/changelog. Material changes (anything affecting your rights, payment, or data handling) are announced 14 days in advance by in-app notification and email to registered users. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you object, delete your account before the effective date.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Use of any AI output is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither CureQuest nor its Operator is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, (b) content you submit, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought before the state and federal courts located in Delaware as the courts of first instance.

Mandatory consumer-protection statutes in your country of residence continue to apply where they grant you stronger rights than Delaware law.
